Club Color Challenge

Dates: November 4th to February 3rd 2022

Challenge yourself to a deeper understanding of color theory with this fun project. Take a bag at random that contains anywhere from 2-4 fabric swatch cards and use your knowledge of color theory from the class with Terry McCray.

Rules and Instructions:

  1. Make a quilt no smaller than 18 inches square.

  2. The main colors in the quilt should be ones that match your swatch cards from the challenge baggies. You may use neutrals (black, white, cream, etc) for background or other areas.

  3. You do not have to use solid fabrics. You may use prints as long as the overall color of the print resembles your swatches.

  4. The quilt must be completed to finish the challenge (pieced, quilted, bound)

  5. There are no rules for design or pattern style. Get as creative as you want.

The January 6th, 2022 meeting will be an open sew night. You may bring this project or any other with you to work on it if you want.

This challenge is all about sparking creativity and stepping outside of your comfort zone. Have fun with it and push yourself to do something new.

Bring your completed challenge quilt to the February 3rd, 2022 meeting to be entered to win a prize.
