Feb Meeting Update: We
discussed this year’s schedule, charity projects, the annual club
challenge, the fair booth, some communication concerns surrounding
facebook, and other various club topics.
The schedule for the year is as follows:
March: Spring Party
We
will hold a party to make up for the cancellation of the Christmas
party. Please bring an item to donate to the auction with a brown paper
bag and the description of your item to put tickets in. We will have the
1 yr fabric swap as well, put the equivalent of 1 yard of fabric in a
brown bag and staple or tape it shut and bring it to the party. Pot-luck
style food is appreciated (entrees, appetizers, desserts). We will play
a couple games also.
April: I Found a Heart Project
We
will hold a sewing day where we will be making fabric hearts that
loosely follow the I Found a Heart Project. Please Google that and bring
your own materiel / machine / extension cord, etc. The hearts will be
displayed in our fair booth and dispersed throughout the fair.
May: Nora Ellen / Appliqué demo
June: Jo Ross / Hand stitching demo
July: Fair Booth Prep
It's the fair's 250th anniversary, we will theme our booth around this. More details on this later.
August: Scrap Buster Night
Bring
your bags of scraps, a cutting mat, rotary cutter, etc. We will cut our
scraps into useable sizes. Sharing / trading with friends is very much
welcome.
September: Charity Project TBD
October: Open Sew
If
anyone in the club would like to volunteer to be the Featured Quilter
for this month that would be lovely. If not, it’s open sew / come hang
out.
November: Challenge Reveal
Use
inspiration from a photo you have personally taken to make a mini quilt
24” or under in size. Interpret this however you like. Please bring the
photo with you so you can tell us about how the picture inspired your
creative process.
December: Holiday Party
