March Meeting Recap

Our first meeting is officially in the books and it was a great one! Thank you to everyone who could attend, the final count was 22 attendees! We are excited and thrilled at the turnout and hope even more of you can join us next time.

A portion of the members attending our first meeting.

Meeting Notes:

  • First we went around the room and did introductions. Each person was asked to say their name and their preferred craft (sewing, crochet, etc).
  • Megan and Amista discussed the goals for the group including how the ticket process will work, name tags, how members can volunteer in the group, and collected member questionnaires.
  • A member newsletter for March was passed around.
  • Kristi P. won the monthly door prize, a signed copy of "Teach Me How to Applique" by Pat Sloan.
  • The Sewcial Sisters quilt was shown and released to the group as a free pattern.
  • The last half hour of the meeting was dedicated to member Show & Tell. Many members brought quilts and other handmade items to show off. There were a lot of really beautiful makes brought in! Very talented group!

Next Month:

The topic for April's meeting is Precuts + Rotary Demo. Megan will be discussing precut fabric sizes, shapes, and more. The last hour of the meeting will be dedicated to rotary cutter safety and proper cutting techniques.

The meeting venue, date, and time for the April meeting is undecided so far. As soon as we know this post will be updated.
